Reducing Excess inventory

May 25, 2012

In search of the Holy Grail

M&A speculative chatter

May 11, 2012

The buzz about SaaS  M&A  looks to me like major ERP providers are trying to get deeper in the Enterprise space by extending their own application. Large ERP deals is where the money is for now.

SAP has a weak Cloud ERP (BBD)  and is not ready for Canadian primetime but by extending it with a solid HR app (Successfactotrs) it makes its ERP more attractive. Oracle went the same way buying Taleo. Value-add software (or apps) are likely the targets for acquisition. I would not be surprised to see Ottawa-based Halogen (HR) be purchased … and likely by Dell. Dell’s purchase of Boomi (Cloud integration platform) puts them in the middle of all these APIs connecting together. It was very strategic and I do not think Dell is done.

I would not be surprised to see SalesForce  buying an ERP to expand their footprint on Enterprises.
